if you have original Iphone, you need to install software to forward message. there are two options:
For Firmware 1.X : WETOOL
For Firmware 2.X : BITE SMS (Recommended)
You can install the same through either Iphone PC Suite or itunes or Cydia. or you can use SwirlyMMS² for jailbroken 2G and 3G iPhones

What ’s a lusy design, a cheap Nokia can do all this without much problem, yet an expensive Iphone seem to have this problem, I think the Iphone desinger need to wake up. otherwise all the other phone companies will soon over take their market. why don’t they make the software and put it in the sale item for user to buy and download.
From what I understand and time I took to find a sms app that could forward txt, wetools and smsd doesn’t work on iphone 3g with firmware 2.2.1. You need to buy a app from cydia called bitesms or irealsms2.0. The crack versions only last temporary. If you don’t want the headache and want a simple app to forward sms and delete lines from already sent txt, I would pay the 5.95 and go with bitesms. The only downfall is that you have to jail break your iphone to do this.

Yes, just changed from nokia to iphone. Finding it tough to adapt. Shock to find out it doesn’t have sms forwarding.

okay in the short time away, I read and understood Jail Break. I m on v2.2.1 iphone. V3.0 is on the way. Should i be patient and wait for the sms forwarding feature in v3.0 or should I just go jail breaking now and get bitesms from cydia?
Any comments from anyone? My huby thinks I should wait as mine is a ‘white’ iphone properly registered with the telco in my country. Just in case any of these actions render my iphone illicit and useless
