how to save BlackBerry Storm battery power life for 9500/9530.you can use some easy ways to save BlackBerry Storm battery life to enjoy more about BlackBerry Storm smart phone.

I use these way to save my BlackBerry Storm Battery life:
firstly you can set BlackBerry Storm Battery screen to go black after 25 seconds, reduce the time it will battery life. secondly dimmed the screen to 65%. thirdly, try not to use the internet too much, because that can drain pretty quick. fourthly, Turn off the GPS and bluetooth when you don’t need it. fifthly,Vibrate and loud volume modes can run out the battery, especially if you get many calls or texts, and it alerts you whenever you do. You can also try going to a Verizon store, and see if they have an extra capacity battery, too, but I am not sure if they have one for the Storm. Make sure you don’t have too many applications running in the background. Also, when you are staying in an area with very poor or no reception for an extended amount of time, turn off your BlackBerry Storm phone or put it in airplane mode, so it doesn’t search for service constantly, which can drain the battery extremely fast.

  1. This is ridiculous…you are pretty much advising people that to save battery life on the phone which they paid a bunch to get, they should probably not use it. Maybe to increase gas mileage on my SUV, I should get out the back and push it then get in and turn the steering wheel without turning the engine on, huh?

Dimming the Backlight Brightness on the screen to about 40% is all you need to do. It tripled my battery life without me having to stop using my Storm. ;-)

  2. “fourthly, try to keep from texting or calling constantly, because that can also drain it somewhat fast”

    really? Are you serious?

    I thought this was a phone…dammit! had I known!

  3. Why does turning my storm off drain the power just as quickly as when it’s on…?

  4. this may be because while storm is on, it does background processing in making the adjustments in ICs and chips..even if you put it to off, the background processes keep an carrying out the working..

  5. I turned the 3G off and kept the Blackberry Storm 9500 at 2G. It saved my phone’s battery to twice the amount which now lasts for 4 days without charge. I am still able to browse internet and check emails and download videos, send adn receive texts. Also turning off GPS also helps. You can turn them on when you need them again.

  6. Who ever wrote this has NO CLUE .First you can’t dim to 65 % it only goes in multiples of ten (40,50,60) and so on .They want you to turn off all the fetures you bought the phone for .Get real .

  7. It must be April Fool’s Day, right! Your article is a joke. I got myself into a 2-year contract to get this cell phone so that I could enjoy it on off mode or with minimal functions. Give me a Break!

  8. I think this is the funniest article I’ve ever read… and the response for the SUV was great! I needed a good laugh.. I have no words to add because the article says it all… it’s like an SNL script… hysterical… great comedy writing…LMAO!!!

  9. Why would carriers sell the storm if you weren’t supposed to use it? Really i’m pretty sure I paid full retail price yeah $500 on a frickin phone because I WANT TO USE IT. Derrrrrrrr umm yeah lets sell phones tell the customers not to use them umm yeah makes total sense…NOT. anyways there is some ways to improve battery life on the storm. I’ve googled and gotten BETTER answers than “Don’t use the phone” (thats what I bought it for…duh). Anyways, theres a free app you can download called Battery Pull…honestly it helped me, I turned my backlight down to 10% which is the lowest and its still bright and visible, you want all the lighting and lighting settings to be at minimal. Another thing, make sure you close/exit out of apps when youre done with them because sometimes hitting end or the arrow doesnt close them out completely theyre still running which is using your battery up even if youre not using the phone. I actually created folders for my homescreen instead of having like 3 or 4 message apps on the phone I put them all in one folder, think of it as a computer if you had 5908329048 folders on your desktop, the computer would run slow right? I turned my gps from location on to e 911 only which definitely helped…my first day with it it lasted me 5 hours! I was PISSSSSED. but I googled and followed some actual tips that make SENSE and my phone has most definitely improved. and lastly have some patience. I believe there is also an app called battery boost? I’m gonna have to do some research on it I don’t know much about it…but yeah…lol maybe this will actually help somebody :-)

  10. That has to be the most ridiculous post I ever read in my life.

To paraphrase “to save power don’t use it”.

    Why did you bother?

  11. Unlink most of the other comments, I am going to leave a nice one. Thank you– I believe your article was helpful. I don’t believe it suggest NOT to use the phone!! Just states some ways to help people out to save their battery life.

  12. These BB Storm articles all suck. Either you have something decent to write about or forget it.

Did you even look at a Storm? There is no 65% brightness setting. If you really wanted to help, then tell people how to get to the brightness (Options|Screen/Keyboard) and how to get to GPS (Options|Advanced Options|GPS) and then explain the settings.

  13. Get a real job

  14. holy cow….why are they giving crapy battery for whom i paid frikin 500 dollars that means my two weeks paycheque…..get a life….

  15. WHY the i get out off batteries and i plug in my BB i can not call and wait to it get charge a little.? that sucks.

anyones know’s hopw i can work my GPS, I couldn’t. tha

  16. I have a question which I hope one of you guys can answer.

Every time I lock my phone, the background light and touchscreen switches on with the slightest movement. I’ve looked through the setting but am unable to find out how to switch it off.

Basically, when I lock my phone, I would like it to stay locked and not keep saying ’screen locked, press the power button to unlock’. It wastes a lot off pointless energy…
