how to stop SMS popup on iphone 3G screen? Is there a way to stop a text message from popping up on iphone 3G screen? my iphone get lots of text messages because of the work I do, what is annoying is that they come up intrusively in front of whatever I am working on. So if I am typing an e-mail it comes up . if I could get it to just increment the “new text message counter” each time I got a new one, much like it does with e-mail, rather than it coming right up in front of whatever you are doing. Now I understand that there is a way to keep your text messages from popping up when the phone is locked but I can’t find a way when it is unlocked.

Unfortunately toggling the SMS preview to off does not stop the message from coming up unless the phone is locked. At least this is what is happening with my phone. If I have the phone locked and the SMS preview to off then it will only show the persons name and that there is a text message but if the phone is unlocked it will show the entire message. I have everything configured exactly the way the article reads?
