That explains how to turn all the connection on… but how do you actually turn the radio on?
I don’t know of any radio functions on my storm but there are some apps pre-loaded that allow you to listen to the radio…however..you have to subscribe to them….I however found a app that is free that you can install on the storm called FlyCast….free radio…try it if you like
Who is writing these tips a 2 year old? These are no help at all!
I actually use slacker radio….slacker.com… its great!!! comparable to pandora… its compatible with the storm and all!!! try it out
I downloaded slacker radio, but I can’t figure out how to turn it on either. The radio instructions leave something out apparently. If someone knows how, please explain. Thanks
that was the worst TIP EVER..dude must of smoked a blunt before typing that up good try tho
i tried turning them on but the only thing that stays on is my bluetooth…it says its sending a txt to register me but then it says i cant do txts phone calls or emails without being registered it doesnt make sense. can any one help me
I think the publisher of this tip is confused on “radio” of blackberry. When you turn on all connections the blackberry does just that and turns on all connections. This brings a popup saying “Your blackberry Radio Connection is now active” or something along those lines. This just means the blackberry is connected to the network via radio waves (for your data plan).
@abi your phone needs to be activated with a service (ie verizon)
OMG … there is no radiofunction on the 9500 … so why try to activate it?
Pandora OWNS Slacker all day. Slacker takes up way too much space and is slothyyy and buggy go Pandora
Okay… This should be 2 different threads. The radio that Danny D is surely speaking of is the device radio itself… AKA, it’s connection to the network to function as a phone (which, by the way, is what it really is for!)… I also encountered this “radio is off” situation usually brought on by a low battery “too low to use radio” (which is a strange feature saving us from ourselves). To turn the radio back on, the only way seems to be to go into “Manage Connections” (which is an icon that is probably in an OPTION folder or something (I moved mine a while ago into a self-made UTILITY folder so I am not sure where it orginally lived). There you choose something like “Activate network connection”. It is annoying that by turning the Blackberry on and off entirely, it does not automatically default to turning on the “radio” but, well… To those who want to listen to the RADIO, I suggest making life easier by buying a radio! Does anyone know where the DISHWASHING application can be turned on?
Nice Scooter, I too would love the Dishwashing app as my wife has got lazy!!
THANKYOU for your help RE: turning radio on! Fooled around with this phone all night til I found your site. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
