how to use wi-fi on BlackBerry Bold 9000 for at&t? I connected my BlackBerry Bold with my wireless network and changed the browser settings on my bold to the hotspot mode instead of the data network. It won’t connect to the internet. Is there a monthly fee that has to be paid to use the wifi or something like that? I did not purchase the data plan from at&t. I really don’t see any other reason

you can hange the Wi-Fi Selection Mode for a RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 using Handheld Software Version 4.6.
press the Menu key, then scroll to and select the Manage Connections icon (to select, press the trackball in).
Scroll to and select Wi-Fi Options.
Scroll to and select one of the following Wi-Fi Selection Mode options:
Automatic: Automatic Wi-Fi Selection Mode is the default mode for BlackBerry device. Automatic Wi-Fi Selection Mode allows the BlackBerry device to switch automatically to an appropriate Wi-Fi network when the BlackBerry device user moves through Wi-Fi coverage areas. The BlackBerry device selects Wi-Fi networks based on the order on the Saved Wi-Fi Profiles list.
Manual: Manual Wi-Fi Selection Mode allows the BlackBerry device user to select the Wi-Fi networks to which the BlackBerry device will attempt to connect.

  1. one thing that everyone seems to forget when connecting to the wifi network is - you need to have data services switched on in your mobile network options or it just wont work.
